Tyson Fury’s cousin Hughie to face Hunter in WBA

 

Fury, cousin of Tyson, the WBC and Ring Magazine heavyweight champion  will share the ring with the mighty American Hunter at the AO Arena Manchester in Manchester on July 2.

The WBA has stated that the winner of their fight on June 11 will face the winner of Briton Daniel Dubois’ clash with Trevor Bryan.

Fury said, “I take the fights everyone avoids. Michael Hunter has fought the best and is among the best. These are the fights I want to show who is the best fighter out there.

“I’m looking forward to this challenge. I believe I am one of the best fighters in the world and this is another big fight to prove that I am in the top three in the world heavyweight division.”

The 27-year-old, a 6’6′ fighter with a strong 26-3 record and ranked No. 4 by the governing body, is aiming for another world title after his disputed points defeat to Joseph Parker in 2017 ended his WBO title challenge. .

However, ‘Bounty’ Hunter (20-1-2) has been shunned by many big names in the heavyweight division who see him as a potential banana peel, with WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk being the only man to hold the 33-year-old.
