U-20 Afcon qualifier: Aigbogun trims squad to 24 as team departs Mauritania Tuesday

Ahead of their Africa U-20 Nations Cup first leg against Mauritania, Coach of the U-20 Men’s National
Team Paul Aigbogun has trimmed the number of players in camp to 24.

The Flying Eagles who have have entered their final phase of preparations are expected to depart for Mauritania on Tuesday.

Sportinglife.ng understands that only 18 players will make the trip while six have been placed on
standby.

Among those dropped are the team’s top striker, Jerome Akor, as well as the reliable right full back,
Mike Zaruma, who had to be axed due to injury.

Also missing is former CHAN Eagles attacker, Peter Eneji, who is said to be out of the country in
search of an overseas club.
