AC Milan defender, Fikayo Tomori, believes his side are equals to Liverpool ahead of the final Champions League group match on Tuesday night.

Liverpool will take to the field at the San Siro where Jurgen Klopp is expected to make wholesale changes as progression has already been secured.

The former Chelsea centre half will need his side to take all three points as a qualification to the last 16 is still very much possible for Milan.

Youngster Tyler Morton is in line to start for Liverpool as the hectic festive fixture list begins to take shape with the Reds welcoming Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa to Anfield on Saturday.

“It will not be easy, they are a team with great intensity and quality. They won the Champions League recently,” said Tomori.

“English football is very intense. We have to give them a hard time like in the first leg.

“Liverpool is an exceptional team but we are not less than them.”

The Reds met AC Milan during game week one with an enthralling encounter taking place as Liverpool came away 3-2 winners.

“As a team we’ve grown a lot in a short period of time,” added Tomori.

“Away at Liverpool, many players were playing for the first time in the Champions League, but now we have grown after five games.

“Now we have to play another game to qualify. We will have to defend well but not just not concede and that’s it, but play our game.”

Liverpool’s attack has been feared all around Europe for a number of years and it has been at its most potent best so far this season.

“In the last three to four years Liverpool have scored over 100 goals a season, I think,” Tomori highlighted.

“They are strong, but teamwork is needed, not individual work.

“We must all run together and that’s what we want to do, show energy.”
