UCL: Real Madrid stars prepare for Liverpool clash with a bike ride

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is concerned about possible fatigue issues from his players and decided to dedicate the second part of Monday’s training session to a pleasant ride around Valdebebas.

The Frenchman asked every player who started against Barcelona on Saturday to take some time away from training on the pitch and enjoy a ride.

Fede Valverde didn’t join his teammates due to the discomfort he felt after the derby, but Alvaro Odriozola, who replaced Lucas Vazquez during the match, participated in the task.

Zidane’s men have played a series of crucial games including the first leg of the Champions League quarte-final against The Reds and Saturday’s Clasico.

The objective of the unusual exercise was to give his players the opportunity to relax and avoid possible burnout, as Real Madrid’s coaching staff are aware of the risks an excessive workload entails.

As a result, their session concluded with some recovery work and specific physiotherapy, with the rest of the players who participated in the derby, training on the pitches along with Rodrygo Goes, Eden Hazard and nine academy players.
