UCL Round-Up: Olayinka scores own goal, Odey on target, Osimhen fires blank

Super Eagles player, Peter Olayinka on Wednesday night scored an unfortunate own goal as Slavia Praha fell 2-1 against Barcelona in the Match-Day 3 of the UEFA Champions League on a day Lionel Messi made history.

The 23-year-old who scored in the opening Group F match against Inter Milan also picked up a yellow card for a nasty challenge on Sergio Busquets in the second half.
Barcelona began the game on the front foot as recently crowned FIFA Best Lionel Messi opened scoring to become the first player in Champions League history to score at least once in 15 consecutive seasons in the competition.
The home side equalised five minutes into the second half after a fine passage of play was finished off by Jan Boril. However, the away side had the last laugh after Messi’s freekick was diverted towards goal by Luis Suarez and bounced off Olayinka before resting at the back of the net to make it 2-1.
Olayinka almost made amends with a late header but it was saved by Marc-André ter Stegen and Barcelona held on for the vital three points as they stay top with seven points. In the other group game, Inter Milan defeated Dortmund 2-0.
At the Luminus Arena, Liverpool thrashed KRC Genk 4-1 with Nigeria international, Stephen Odey getting the solitary goal for the home side.

Odey came on for another Nigerian, Paul Onuachu in the 81st minute.

Elsewhere, Victor Osimhen fired blank as Lille were held to a 1-1 draw byValencia at home.
