Udeze opens up on secrets behind invitation to Super Eagles squad

Ex-international Ifeanyi Udeze has revealed what players have to do to get called up into the Super Eagles.

Recalled Rohr’s team selection for the just-concluded international window sparked reactions and raised questions on what players have to be considered for call up.

In his response to the question, the former PAOK Saloniki of Greece said one of the first secrets behind the invitation to the National team is a regular playing time at the club level.

“If you aren’t doing well for your club side, there is no way you will be invited to the National team.” Udeeze made this known while speaking on Brila FM.

“You can’t be struggling for game time with your club and expected to into the team ahead of someone who is doing well.” He said.

Udeze also charged the fringe players in the team to continue working hard in order to force their way to the heart of the coach.

“I agreed that Rohr already has his first-choice players, but I believe that a player can change the mind of the coach with his works in training or competitive matches.”

“The coach is definitely watching, once a player is doing well, the coach might decide to invite and give him a playing time,” he submitted.
