UEFA approves 210 bottles of water per team, cancels shirt swaps

UEFA has released strict guidelines for the eight clubs kicking off the Champions League knockout stage in Lisbon with the Atalanta, PSG fixture opening the campaign right away.

This year’s fixtures will be played in the Portuguese capital as one-legged ties in a neutral venue, replacing the traditional two-legged home-and-away ties in the lead up to the final due to COVID-19.

Each squad has been allocated a hotel and training area that is separate from the rest of the teams and no player
will be allowed to leave the hotel unless necessary.

There will be no shirt swaps after each match as players have been instructed to leave the pitch immediately.

UEFA has also barred players pairing in a room while laundry must be done by team staff and not the hotel staff or the players themselves.

They will do another test the day before each match and results need to be presented to UEFA six hours before kick-off. There is also a temperature check and a more basic Covid-19 test when they enter the stadium on the matchday.
