UEFA Nations League finals draw confirmed

The draw for the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League finals took place on Thursday evening, and delivered two scintillating fixtures for next year’s semi-finals.

Following a rapid-fire UEFA Nations League A group stage campaign, which took place between September and November, none of the four finalists from the 2018/19 edition of the competition progressed to the finals of this season’s tournament.

Instead, it was Italy, Spain, Belgium and France who emerged victorious from their respective groups, and who will now compete in the finals next year to dethrone Portugal as the reigning UEFA Nations League champions.

The draw for the semi-finals, which will be played in October next year, took place on Thursday and saw world champions France pitted against the planet’s highest-ranked nation Belgium, while Italy will take on Spain in the other crunch clash.

All four remaining matches in the tournament, including the final and third-place play-off, will be played across Turin and Milan in Italy, with the final set to take place at the famous San Siro stadium.
