Ahead of the UEFA Youth League semifinal fixture against Barcelona, Manchester City midfielder, Ayotomiwa Dele-Bashiru has declared his readiness to beat their La Masia counterparts.

The 18-year-old who has represented England at U-16 level but eligible to play for Nigeria is confident that the Citizens can even go as far as winning the competition despite the absence of creative duo of Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden who are ineligible for the competition having played three games in Europe with the first team managed by Pep Guardiola.

“There’s a lot at stake, but it feels normal,” he told the club’s official website.

“We expect to be at this stage of the tournament. We’re a big team, but it wouldn’t be good to get overly hyped about it.

“We just need to keep a cool head and I think we’ll deal with it well.

“We think we can beat Barcelona and we think we can win the tournament.

“The way I see it, we have to win it. We’re the first team to reach the semi-final, so there’s a sense of achievement, but we are going there to win.”

Dele-Bashiru played for Manchester City’s first team in December 2017 and a lot is expected of the young lad in the nearest future.
