Uzoho Benched in Elche Draw

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho had to watch from the bench as Elche pulled a 1-1 against Real Oviedo in a Spanish Segunda fixture on Sunday.

This will be the second consecutive game that Uzoho would be made to watch from the sidelines since joining Elche on loan from Deportivo La Coruna this season.

Elche manager, Juan Jose opted for Jose Juan Figueras in between the sticks as against Uzoho who has seen his profile rise since emerging the first choice keeper for the Eagles following the retirement of Carl Ikeme.

The former U-17 keeper is expected to be included for the double header against Libya next month in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Elche who are 20th on the table, were the first to score in the fifth minute through Manuel Sanchez Lopez, but the host side drew level six minutes before the half hour mark through Joselu Barroso.
