Uzoho planned to shame critics before injury- Rohr

Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr has revealed to Sportinglife.ng that Eagles first choice goalkeeper Francis Uzoho had told him that he would surprise him by putting up a wonderful performance against host South Africa in the crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier slated for Johannesburg on Saturday, November 17, 2018 before he got injured.

Uzoho however will miss the crucial AFCON match as a result of injury he had on Sunday while playing for his club Elche against Cadiz in a Spanish Segunda clash.

But his Coach at the national team Rohr has disclosed that the teenage goalkeeper had promised that he would do all his best in the Johannesburg match to make him, the team and football loving Nigerians happy.

“Uzoho wanted to show his qualities to the critics in South Africa. But the injury has stopped that but I know he will bounce back. He is a strong boy with a positive character”, Rohr stated.
