Varane bids former teammates farewell in tears at Real Madrid training

Raphael Varane went to Real Madrid’s training ground on Friday to bid farewell to his now former teammates after agreeing to join Manchester United.

The Frenchman was welcomed by Los Blancos president Florentino Perez, who posed alongside Varane with Real Madrid’s trophies in the background and gave him a heartfelt farewell hug.

Then, Varane took to the pitch at Valdebebas where he gave a speech to his former teammates. He couldn’t hold back his tears, being visibly moved by the fact he is departing the club he has been at since 2011.

The new Manchester United centre-back talked about a magnificent period of his life which is set to come to an end both professionally and personally and wished everyone good luck for next season.

Finally, Varane was approached by his former colleagues to say goodbye with Marcelo, Lucas Vazquez, Fede Valverde, Toni Kroos, Alvaro Odriozola, Isco and the rest, as they stepped forward to give him a farewell hug.
