Victor Moses seals 18-month Fernerbahce loan deal

Chelsea winger and Nigerian international Victor Moses has completed his loan move to Turkish club Fenerbahce.

The 28 year old who was frozen out of Stamford Bridge action sealed an 18-month loan deal after arriving in Istanbul  on Wednesday and subsequently undertaking medicals.

Victor Moses’ only start for Chelsea this season came in the EFL Cup win over Liverpool at Anfield.

Moses was converted from a winger to wing-back by Antonio Conte, Sarri’s predecessor, playing a key role in the 2016-17 title triumph. He made a total of 128 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 18 goals across four seasons.

Moses arrived at Stamford Bridge from Wigan for £9m in 2012 and not new to loan deals having had loan spells at liverpool, Stoke and West Ham United respectively.

Fernerbahce officially confirmed the deal on their website saying; “Our club has reached an agreement with Chelsea to recruit Victor Moses”

Fenerbahçe, meanwhile, have endured a poor season and are 15th in the Turkish Super Lig, only out of the drop zone on goal difference.

Having finished runner-up to Galatasaray last season, Fener have only managed three wins this season, and got rid of Philip Cocu in October after the inauspicious start. They turned to Ersun Yanal just before Christmas, and despite being knocked out of the Turkish Cup , the former Trabzonspor supremo has at least managed to remain unbeaten in the league – three games, three draws.

Moses will be teaming up again with former Liverpool centre-half Martin Škrtel, Roberto Soldado and Andre Ayew all competing for the forward positions. Moses’ contract at the Bridge runs out at the end of next season.
