Video: Here’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s worst ever free-kick vs Bologna

Cristiano Ronaldo took one of his worst ever free-kicks during Juventus’ Serie A clash with Bologna on Monday night.

The Italian giants played their first league game since the league’s restart on Monday and Ronaldo was eager to prove a point.

Ronaldo hasn’t scored a free-kick at club level since 2017 but fancied his luck against Bologna keeper Lukasz Skorupski.

However, the 35-year-old’s effort soared over the home side’s net and some say it could still be travelling right now.

Ronaldo did manage to get on the scoresheet however, netting a penalty as Maurizio Sarri’s side clinched a 2-0 win.

Juventus fans will be happy to see the five time Ballon d’Or winner get back to his best after a lackluster return to club football.

Ronaldo missed a penalty in the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against AC Milan and was anonymous against Napoli in the final on Wednesday.

Juventus lost the final 4-2 on penalties and Ronaldo didn’t step up to take one – with many thinking he was desperate to take the final penalty.

The Bianconeri had won the Coppa Italia four years in a row prior to Ronaldo’s arrival while he has now lost two consecutive finals for the first time in his career.

Following the game, Italian legend Luca Toni slammed Ronaldo and said he currently “can’t even dribble”.

“It’s a defeat that also bears the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo,” he told Rai Uno after the game.

“The Portuguese is in difficulty physically and he can’t even dribble a man.”

Manager Sarri also aimed a not-so-subtle dig at his star man after full-time.

“He (Ronaldo) is in the same shape as the others, like Paulo Dybala and Douglas Costa, he is lacking the sharpness to do what works best for him.” he told RAI.

“I didn’t say much to the players after the game. I was angry and disappointed just like them, so at these moments it’s best to stay silent. We’ll talk better tomorrow morning.”
