Wan-Bissaka: Neymar my biggest headache to date

Improving Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka has named Neymar as the toughest opponent he has faced in his career.

Wan-Bissaka, 23, arrived from Crystal Palace for £45m plus £5m in add-ons in July 2019 with a reputation as and out-and-out defender. And he has proved to be exactly that making the Old Trafford right-back berth his own.

The speedy defender, who s rarely beaten one-on-one, was asked who is toughest opponent has been. And after facing Neymar twice during the Champions League group stages earlier this campaign, it was the Brazilian he named.

The London-born defender kept Neymar quiet in Paris but the 29-year-old scored twice at Old Trafford as PSG ran out 3-1 winners.

“I’d say Neymar,” Wan-Bissaka told UEFA.com.

“That was a player that was quite challenging, but I was always up for it, and I enjoyed it, the experience, to be playing against him. That meant a lot.

“I think for him, it’s a bit of both, depending on where he is on the pitch,” he added.

“He’s a player that likes to draw fouls, and so for me, if I’m up against him, it’s [the task] just not to give him any fouls because that’s what he wants.”
