WCQ: Beat Cape Verde, get N20m, Air Peace boss promises Eagles’ stars

 

Allen Onyema, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, has promised Nigeria’s Super Eagles players the sum of N20m to beat Cape Verde counterparts.

Sportinglife.ng reported that the Eagles trade tackles with the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde on Tuesday in their second Group C World Cup qualifying game.

Addressing the three-time African champions before their Air Peace flight took off for the Cesária Évora International Airport, Sao Vincente, Cape Verde, Onyeama remind the players of Nigeria’s potentials.

Onyeama urged them to ensure they win the match for the unity of Nigeria.

He also recalled that he “almost shed tears” on Saturday when northerner, Ahmed Musa, was introduced in the 2-0 win over Liberia.

“Majority of the spectators at the stadium in Lagos were made up of Southern Nigerians.

“When the name Ahmed Musa came up who is from Kano State, the stadium roared for joy. What does that tell you, Nigerians, we love ourselves, just a few differences… We have no other place than this nation…”

In his parting note, Onyeama promised the footballers N20m on arrival if they come back home with three points.

“If you win the match, I’ll bring the money cash and hand it over. The moment you land, you’ll get that 20million naira waiting for you.”

The airline CEO added that “I see this as a stepping stone to unify our nation.”
