WCQ: Osimhen predicts another physical combat with Ghana

Victor Osimhen has said he expects yet another tough physical contest against the Black Stars of Ghana tomorrow, but he will also back the Super Eagles to fight through it and qualify for the World Cup in Qatar.

Both teams are tied at 0-0 after the first leg in Kumasi and the overall winners after tomorrow’s rematch will march on to Qatar 2022.

“It will be another tough physical battle (against Ghana),” said Osimhen, who was closely marked by Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku in the first game.

“But we’re looking forward to it because we want to play at the World Cup.

“We respect Ghana, they have some quality players.

“But we also have quality individual players who can win games for us and also players who could come from the bench to do so as well.

“We count of the fans to be the 12th man for us to win and be at the World Cup.”

At least three Super Eagles stars suffered knocks from the Kumasi clash, namely Zaidu Sanusi, Innocent Bonke and Samuel Chukwueze.

Chukwueze could even be ruled out of tomorrow’s rematch on account of a hamstring injury.
