‘We have what it requires to stop MFM’

After going three matches unbeaten and without conceding a goal, captain of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Rangers International F.C, Temitope Olusesi, has assured the club’s numerous fans that the team was not ready to surrender any ground in its resolve to actualize its target this season.

Olusesi, made this assurance in a chat with RangersMedia, in view of the match day 25, NPFL 2020/2021 fixture against in-form, Mountain of Fire & Miracles (M.F.M) F.C at ‘The Cathedral’, Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu on Sunday, June 6, 2021.

“No doubt, no team is a small team in the game of football and based on that, we respect M.F.M but our target remains claiming the maximum points at stake in the fixture as we want to extend our unbeaten run that started three matches back. Our opponent has shown that they can play football going by the result they have churned out in the past five weeks but we have what it takes to stop them,” stated the defense lynchpin.

He further said, “It’s going to be a tough game because they are a good side with young talent. We have been playing them and its always been difficult to defeat them but I know this time around with the contributions from the players, coaches, management and our supporters, it’s going to be three points gained at the end of the encounter.”

Reminded of the visitor’ exploits in their last five fixtures that saw the Lagos boys harvest thirteen points from a possible fifteen, Olusesi said, “I am not bothered about the record they are bringing to Enugu. It’s all about the mindset of the players. We are a team that can score goals anywhere and any day. With the coming of M.F.M to Enugu, it will be a match of many goals and I believe we shall harvest a lot of goals.”

Recall that in the reverse fixture at the ‘Soccer Temple’, Agege stadium, Lagos, earlier in the year, it ended all square with Ugochukwu Ugwuoke shooting the Enugu side into the lead on 24 minutes but were pegged back just five minutes later by Balogun Munyiwa.
