We will make sure Dembele plays, says Barca president Laporta

Barcelona president Joan Laporta says they have a new fitness plan for Ousmane Dembele.

Laporta made clear that his relationship with Ousmane Dembele, Barcelona’s new No.7 after he changed his shirt number from No.11, is very good and that the club want him to stay beyond the expiration of his contract next summer.

“The relationship is very good. He feels loved at the club, we want him to stay,” Laporta stated.

“We will look out for the interest of both parties, he has changed his shirt number.

“He has told me that he wants to get back on the pitch and defend Barcelona’s shirt.

“We will make sure he plays, that he plays often and that what has happened [with his injuries] doesn’t happen again. The club have a plan.”
