West Ham target late swoop for former Chelsea forward
West Ham are attempting to sign former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou from Hertha Berlin before the January transfer window slams shut.
Kalou spent six years at Chelsea, winning the Premier League, Champions League and four FA Cups, and could now be set for a stunning return to England.
The 34-year-old is currently plying his trade under Jurgen Klinsmann at Hertha Berlin, but German publication Kicker report that West Ham have enquired about signing him before Friday night.
They write that Kalou is not in Hertha’s plans for the rest of the season, with the club on the verge of securing a stunning £27million move for Krzysztof Piatek.

West Ham are currently teetering above the relegation zone in the Premier League, only outside the bottom three on goal difference.
If Kalou did sign a deal with David Moyes’ men, he would come up against his old side Chelsea on April 4.
