Who will survive the battle of Nyamirambo Stadium today?

There will no doubt be fireworks at Rwanda’s Nyamirambo Stadium today, as Amavubi of Rwanda welcome Cranes of Uganda in one of the World cup qualifiers.

The fighting spirit of the Cecafa nations is never in doubt and with the two nations still in search of the first win it promises to be fire for fire.

You will definitely hear the ‘Amavubi oh ye, oh ye a whole lot today as the fans ginger their players to stop the cranes from running away with a victory.

The Cranes and the Amavubi occupy third and four positions in Group E headed by Mali and kenya with four and two points respectively.

Uganda equally have two points with today’s host Rwanda with only one point in the kitty following their 1-1 draw with Harambee stars of kenya.

I recall the atmosphere at this stadium when Rwanda hosted 2016 CHAN, no doubt soccer lovers will be treated to good football today.

Uganda defender Enock Walusimbi has stated they are ready to show Rwanda what they are made of in today’s encounter

“All we are waiting for is the first whistle and we show them [Rwanda] what we are made of,” Walusimbi is quoted by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations’ website as saying.

Amavubi set to battle visiting Cranes

“This is like the game of our lives because it means a lot in our campaign of qualifying for the World Cup. We only urge Ugandans to rally behind us as we face Rwanda.”

On his part, Bobosi Byaruhanga said the qualifier is a great chance for the young players to show their worth.

‘We young players have learnt a lot, especially from the coaches and senior players. I think it is time we deliver and it is against Rwanda that we should do so,” Byaruhanga said.

Meanwhile, Julius Poloto is hopeful they are going to overcome Amavubi as they search for their first win in the qualifiers.

“We need to win this game for Ugandans who have waited a long time without seeing their team win,” stated Poloto.

“We have prepared well for the days we have been in camp and just looking forward to the game.
