Why Ozil’s move tickles my fancy- Lucas Podoldoski

In a typical being his brother’s keeper fashion, former Arsenal ace and Antalyaspor ace Lucas Podoldoski has revealed why Mesut Ozil recent move has given a lot of joy.

Podolski says he is eager to see Ozil start playing again noting that the recent move will guarantee that and regretted that the German international was sidelined at the Emirates unnecessarily for almost a year.

He particularly noted that Ozil should not have been treated the way he was after putting in seven years at the Emirates Stadium.

“I generally think with a player who is now in his sixth or seventh year with the club, to kick him completely out of the squad, that’s absolutely not okay.

“He’s shown his class on the pitch, he’s never been negative towards his colleagues or the club.

Arsenal as a club have not looked positive in this situation over the last months” he said even as he predicted that Ozil’s coming will be an asset to the Turkish league.

“I am delighted that Mesut will play for us in Turkey in the future. He is an asset to the league and at 32 years of age is still in his prime footballing age,” the former Arsenal forward told Sport Bild. “It happens again and again in the Süper Lig that great player names are presented by the club bosses in order to satisfy the fans.”

Podolski who joined Antalyaspor in January last year on a one-and-a-half-year contract has so far made 26 appearances for the side with five goals to his credit.
