Wikki Tourists bank on Zubairu’s experience

The management of Wikki Tourists of Bauchi is confident that the new technical adviser Aliyu Zubairu will excel with the team.

Zubairu was officially unveiled to the fans and general public at the conference room of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi on Monday.

The team’s consultant, Abubakar Abubakar said the club signed Zubairu because of his experience in the league.
He stressed that the team will achieve something tangible under him.

“We looked at his current performance at Akwa United and we decided that he is the kind of person the club needs at the moment. He was a chief coach to Abdu Maikaba at Akwa United and anytime Maikaba is away on national team assignment, Zubairu took charge of the team and he always delivered. I have no doubt in my mind that he will deliver at Wikki Tourists,” Abubakar said to SportingLife.ng.

Zubairu replaced Bala Nikyu who has been with the club since late 2015.

Until his new appointment, Zubairu was the Chief Coach of Akwa United FC.

Zubairu obtained a degree in Physical Health Education, (PHE) at the University of Maiduguri, (Unimaid). He also possesses Diploma in football at the Nigeria Institute for Sports (NIS) Lagos. He has CAF License, B and C and Level four from Brazilian football institute.
