Wilder backs Ruiz to beat Joshua again
Deontay Wilder has revealed that he is backing Andy Ruiz Jr to beat Anthony Joshua for a second time.
The Mexican is slimmer just shy of eight weeks before he takes on Joshua for in a world heavyweight title fight in Saudi Arabia in December.
A much stockier Ruiz stopped a sluggish Joshua at Madison Square Garden in June and Wilder thinks he now has that winning mentality.
Asked whether he is backing the 30-year-old, the WBC title holder told Sky Sports: “I am. Ruiz Jr has all the motivation and confidence that he needs from the first fight.
“I don’t think he is one to dwell after obtaining a little taste of success. This is just the beginning, especially when you become a champion.
“You’ve got to stay hungry. My man Marvin Hagler said you can’t get out of bed in silk pyjamas, but with the win, it was a big boost, and he has the Mexican people around him.’

Ruiz has previously stated he would welcome an undisputed title fight against Wilder if he does see off Joshua for a second time.
