Willian reveals ‘no transfer offers’ as PSG, Barca emerge as favourites

Willian insists he’s yet to receive any offers with Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly leading the chase for Chelsea’s contract rebel.

The Brazilian’s deal expires at the end of the season and he is currently able to talk terms with foreign clubs over a free transfer.

Willian and Chelsea were both hoping to come to an agreement, but the winger wants a three-year deal while the Blues will only offer two.

It now seems highly likely the 31-year-old’s seven-year stay in west London will come to an end in July.

Willian has scored 59 goals in 329 games while winning two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and last season’s Europa League.

It’s now emerged that Barcelona and PSG are battling it out over his signature.

But Willian claims neither side are yet to make an official approach.

And he has dealt Chelsea a further blow by admitting his preference is to remain in England, with capital rivals Arsenal and Spurs also understood to be interested.

Willian told Expediente Futebol: “Really a very beautiful story that I built at this club.

“I have a very special affection for the fans, for the people who work there and I identified myself a lot here.

“Everyone knows that my contract ends now in a few months, so the renewal is really a difficult thing to happen.

“I think it will be very difficult for me to renew because Chelsea offered me two years, I asked for three and it ended there.

“We didn’t talk anymore, we didn’t negotiate anymore.

“My desire is to stay in the Premier League, but I don’t rule out playing in other leagues.

“I’ll play until the end of the season and see what happens.

“We hear the rumours, we know that we have interest from clubs, especially because I’ll be free in the market.

“I’ll be able to negotiate but there are no offers for now.”
