Winners emerge at 2nd Ex-Squash Pros Diaspora tourney

Durosinlorun Mistura, Wisdom Nzei, Rukayat Oladumoye and Collins Iguodala have emerged champions in the U-13 and U-16 events at the second edition of Ex-Squash Pros Diaspora tournament held at the Squash Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

For the U-13 female category, Durosinlorun Mistura defeated Jennifer Magundozoko 3-0 to emerge winner while in the male category, Wisdom Nzei beat Dominion Utokpe 3-2 to gain title.

In the U-16 female category Rukayat Oladumoye easily maneuvered her way over Olusoji Peace 3-0 while Collins Iguodala defeated Durosinlorun Abdulraheem 3-2 to win the U-16 male category.

All the winners went home with various gifts including trophies, rackets, training bags, trainers etc, which were handed over by the President of the federation.

During the tournament, the under 10 male and female category was included with Nnannah Goodness from Kwara State winning the female side while Daniel Friday from Headwaters in Lagos won the male category.

The over-45 category which was also included saw Jonah Attah from Abuja winning the male category while Elizabeth Iyamu from Edo state won the female category respectively.

A new chairlady has appointed by Ex-squash pros in Nigeria, as Mubo Laurel Ojo promised to change the fortune of the sport.

The chairman of Ex-Squash Pros Diaspora, Femi Shittu said: “The tournament purposely ignored sponsorship based on the last experience we encountered. We want to build more value on how sport so as to make it a good one. Ex-Squash Pros have promised to take at least two players abroad so as to represent Nigeria in the game of squash.”
