Winning Stoke Player award is a thing of Joy–Etebo

Super Eagles midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo is short of words after winning the Stoke City player of the year, in his first season with the English side.

Etebo edged Jack Butland, Ryan Shawcross, Thomas Edwards and Joe Allen to win the award.

He posted the picture of him receiving his award, with the caption:

“It’s a thing of joy winning the SW Stoke City player of the year 🙌and I just want to use this opportunity to appreciate the fans for their support indeed you guys will stay in my heart💪🙌🔴⚪️

The 23-year-old scored two goals in 32 Championship appearances for Stoke City this season.

He netted his first goal for Stoke City in their 2-0 home win against Nothingham Forest in March and got the second early this month in the 1-0 away victory at Blackburn Rovers.

The former Warri Wolves star also scooped two man of the match awards this season.

He joined Stoke after completing a £6.35million move from Portuguese side CD Feirense.
