With Osimhen in Napoli’s attack, Gattuso can go to bed, says Giuntoli

Napoli director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is confident that with Victor Osimhen in the Napoli’s attack, the technical crew will definitely not be under pressure.

He however maintained that their ‘attack is complete’ with the arrival of Osimhen, although Hirving Lozano has ‘taken longer than expected’ to adapt.

Osimhen completed his transfer from Lille on Friday, with President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirming the deal is worth around €80m.

However, it’s believed the cash element is only €50m, plus €10m in very difficult to achieve bonuses, and the rather inflated evaluation of goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis and three youth team players make up the other €20m.

“Osimhen is young and has huge potential, but also different characteristics to the other forwards that we already have in the squad,” director of sport Giuntoli told Sky Sport Italia.

“With him, our attack is complete. We will part ways with Arkadiusz Milik, as that is what both parties want, to take our separate paths.”

There have been reports Chucky Lozano will be on the market too, but Giuntoli seemed to agree with the Marca Claro suggestion in Mexico that he would be given another season to prove himself.

“If it were just up to me, then Lozano would stay. He has taken longer than expected to adapt, but we are seeing some flashes of quality in these final games of the season.”
