Women’s football stakeholders fault Daura’s appointment

Prominent women’s football stakeholders in the country have faulted the appointment of Ms Amina Sani Zangon Daura, the nephew’s daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari as head of Women’s football in Nigeria.

Sportinglife.ng gathered from an impeccable source that some of the applicants who were qualified for the position were not invited for any interview handled by Phillips Consulting.

“We never heard anything from the NFF after we submitted our applications until today that it was announced, “ said one of the applicants.

The stakeholders also questioned why such a sensitive position should  go to someone without a deep knowledge and understanding of the women’s game.

They are of the view that football appointment is gradually becoming a political issue in the country and it would not help the development of the game.
