World Cup: Bring England now, Chelsea goalkeeper Mendy in top shape for Round of 16

Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy, has said he was battle ready to face England in the Round of 16 of the World Cup.

The Senegal No1 is now in high spirit after his country booked the knock-out stage ticket on Tuesday.

The player however recalled being without a club in 2016.

“For a year I worked very, very hard. Even if I was alone, I went to the gym every day,” he said.

“I also trained with my brothers, because I had no attacker. So they helped me a lot.

“So yes, work hard, be clear and stay focused.”
