Yunus Musah sudden form slide worries Valencia

Valencia management have been stunned by the sudden form slide of Yunus Musah.

The former Arsenal prospect was virtually non-existent for the back end of the 2020/21 campaign.

A bright start saw the teenager be handed the reward of a contract extension that is set to run until June 2026, but since then he has looked a shadow of himself on the pitch.

Marca says the club has been worried about him for some months and even asked questions of the player’s representatives to try and find an answer.

Such a contract renewal was seen as the natural progression at the time, a reward for his performances, but it’s easy to forget what kind of impact such a deal like that can have on a young professional.

Voro sensed a lack of motivation and made a key decision to drop Musah from the squad completely, that has to be a concern moving forward. Valencia believe they have tried everything to help Musah, and now all solutions have to come from the player himself.
