Zamalek sack Ex-Super Eagles coach Peseiro after underwhelming spell

Egyptian heavyweights Zamalek have parted ways with former Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro following a string of underwhelming results, including a 2-2 draw against National Bank.

The club announced the decision in an official statement on Monday, confirming the end of Peseiro’s tenure just months after his appointment.

“Zamalek and Jose Peseiro agree to end the relationship by mutual consent. We wish the best in future,” the club stated on its official website.

Peseiro took charge of the White Knights in February but failed to meet expectations. Under his leadership, Zamalek exited the CAF Confederation Cup at the quarter-final stage after a defeat to South African side Stellenbosch.

Domestically, the team sits third in the Egyptian Premier League standings, trailing behind Pyramids FC and rivals Al Ahly.

During his brief stint, the 65-year-old Portuguese manager oversaw 17 matches, recording seven wins, eight draws, and two losses.
