2018 World Cup: Nigeria can shock the world- Elahor

Despite the challenges that bedeviled Super Eagles’ build-up to the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, Ex-
international – Friday Elahor believes the Coach Genor Rohr side would spring surprises to advance from
Group D.

Nigeria will tackle Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in Group D, with their first group match against the
star-studded Croatia on Saturday.

Elahor told Brila FM in Lagos on Wednesday that the Eagles were not considered as the favourite to
qualify from the group at USA 1994.

‘’Nigeria can surprise teams at the World Cup because in 1994 many would have thought we were no match
against a star-studded Bulgaria side. We disgraced them and I believe this team will make us proud and
fly high. We have quality players in the team, players like Iwobi, Moses and Musa who run at defenders
and pick holes in any wall, he said.

He added: “Truly, we have our own problems in the midfield and defense, but certainly Rohr must have
done his home work. I don’t think Croatia is so good. I believe they are beatable and Eagles can start
well in the group.”
