Sportinglife.ng can reveal exclusively from those who should know at the Glasshouse in Abuja that Wolverhampton Wanderers FC of England’s Nigeria international goalkeeper Carl Ikeme is expected to complete the treatment of Leukemia, a cancer of blood-forming tissues in a Manchester Hospital in the United Kingdom (UK) in June.

Disclosing to Sportinglife.ng the Glasshouse chiefs, who were in London on Tuesday to visit Ikeme stated that the federation has plans to include the recuperating goalkeeper in the Nigerian contingent to the Russia 2018 World Cup, although he would not be registered to prosecute any of Super Eagles World Cup matches, beginning with the opening game against Croatia on June 16.

” Ikeme could be on the country’s contingent to the Mundial, but that would only happen if his doctors clear him to to embark on such long-haul trips to Russia. But, we are hopeful that when he completes his treatment by June, he could be part of Super Eagles’ party to the Cameroon 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
