Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has called on Alex Iwobi to prove that he is a capable replacement for injured Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the Europa League quarter final clash tonight.

The Gunners face CSKA Moscow in the return leg of their quarter finals fixture in Moscow, with a 4-1 advantage from the first leg at the Emirates.

“Without him, it’s time for Alex Iwobi to deliver,” Keown told Daily Mail.

The Arsenal legend feels Iwobi does better in the colours of Nigeria than Arsenal, where he has spent three seasons.

“He has been in the first team for three seasons now but has not really trained on. He’s neat and tidy but is not decisive enough. He’s scored more goals for Nigeria than Arsenal this season –
two goals in 32 games is not good enough for an attacking player, even if a lot of those are from the bench,” Keown said.

Keown fears that CSKA could be inspired by Roma’s comeback against Barcelona in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions
league quarter final match clash.

Mkhitaryan was ruled out for Arsenal’s next three matches after sustaining a knee medial ligament injury in the first leg at the Emirates last week.
