CAF Super Cup: Lokosa Missing As Esperance fall to Raja

Nigeria forward Junior Lokosa was not dressed for Tunisian side Esperance who lost 2-1 to Morocco’s Raja Casablanca in the CAF Super Cup played at the Al Gharafa Stadium, Doha on Friday.

Lokosa has struggled to find his feet since joining Esperance from Nigeria Premier League side Kano Pillars in January.

Raja’s goal came in the 22nd minute through Abdelilah Hafidi who beat Esperance goalkeeper Rami Jridi following a combination of passes.

In the 37th minute, Esperance would have drawn level when Yassine Khenissi draw a close-range save from Anas Zniti .

Esperance however broke the deadlock in the 57th minute through substitute Youcef Belaili.

Raja got the winning goal from a goal mouth scramble scored by Badar Banoun who flicked home a goal-bound shot with 25 minutes remaining. Raja last won the title in 2000.

It would be the the first time that the Confederation of Africa Football would be playing the Super Cup outside the continent.
