Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) rules states in (Article 92.3)  that if a nation withdraws from hosting or has the rights taken away one year before the finals, ‘a fine of $500,000 and a suspension of the next edition of Afcon of it’s A national team, without considering the concerned edition.’

Following Comoros petition, CAS on Thursday instructed CAF to furnish it with the details of the defence of the case brought by Comoros. CAF has just 20 days to respond and if found to be true Cameroon maybe be axed and Comoros taking their place.

Cameroon defeated Comoros 3-0 in the last group match of the AFCON qualifier to join group leaders Morocco in qualifying for the tournament.
