Tottenham’s Kane sets Champions League goal record
Harry Kane set a new Champions League record on Tuesday night in a thrilling Tottenham comeback.
Kane scored twice to put Tottenham 4-2 up against Olympiacos in Jose Mourinho’s first Champions League game as Spurs’ new head coach.
Those goals ensured he became the quickest player in Champions League history to score 20 goals in the competition, hitting the mark in his 24th game.
The previous record-holder for Juventus great Alessandro Del Piero, who scored his 20th goal in his 26th game. Ruud van Nistelrooy in 27 games and Filippo Inzaghi in 28.

Kane’s first goal in the Champions League came in his fourth game, converting a penalty in a 2-1 away loss to Monaco in November 2016. His first goal from open play came in the following matchday, a 3-1 win over CSKA Moscow.
