NFF To Disburse FIFA’s $2m Fund after getting Sports Ministry’s Approval
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has gotten the nod from the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, to disburse two million dollar (#772m) fund from the Federation of International Football meant for clubs and the league bodies.
The approval was contained in a communique issued after its board meeting which was conducted via video conference on Monday, 10th August 2020.
The fund is meant to serve as a booster for their preparation ahead of the 2020/2021 League Season.
After consultations with the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, the board endorsed the proposal from the Secretariat for the sum to disbursed to football bodies which include Nigeria Professional Football League, Nigeria National League, Nigeria Women Football League and the Nigeria Nationwide League.
The total sum is made up of $1,000,000 (#386m) for FIFA’s support for restarting the football season and $500,000 (#193m) being FIFA’s dedicated support for women’s football.

Also, the sum of $300,000 (#115.8m) is for CAF’s support to its member associations and $200,000 (#77.2m)for NFF’s support from Sponsors’ Funds,” part of the communique read.
