We won’t beg any player to play for Nigeria–NFF

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it won’t beg any player of Nigeria descent to play for the country.

This is coming on the heels after many have urged the federation to do everything humanly possible to get Bukayo Saka to play for the country ahead of England.

But the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick has clearly stated that the federation would not beg anyone to represent Nigeria.

“There are many players that play like Bukayo Saka in Nigeria. We don’t want to go begging any player,” Pinnick said.

Saka was born in London to Nigerian parents, and he’s still eligible to play for Nigeria despite featuring for the country of his birth at the junior level.

The likes of Joseph Aribo, Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses decided to play for Nigeria at full international level, despite playing for England at Junior level, but Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori opted to represent the Englis
