There had been so much controversy regarding the countries both players should commit their international future to especially in the case of Abraham who was still eligible to play for Nigeria since he had only played for England in friendly matches against Germany and Brazil in November 2017.

But that has been laid to rest with today’s development.

Abraham who marked his 22nd birthday with a goal against Lille in the Champions League against Lille on Wednesday was never keen on representing Nigeria at the senior level.

He has scored seven goals in seven Premier League appearances, just one less than top scorer Sergio Aguero.
