AFCON 2025 To Take Place Between December And January

The time and period of the next African Cup of Nations continued to generate controversy among the stakeholders.

The biennial competition was initially fixed for the summer of 2025 by the Moroccan Football Federation president Fouzi Lekja.

But the decision did not go down well with FIFA as it will clash with the maiden edition of the 32-team Club World Cup that will commence in 2025.

The update coming from Cairo, Egypt indicated that the Executive arm of CAF has agreed to hold the competition between December 2025 to January 2026 but they will still meet to ratify the decision.
