AFCON: Cameroonians praise ‘saviour’ Aboubakar

Cameroon football fans have been singing the praise of Al-Nassr hitman, Vincent Aboubakar, after rescuing Indomitable Lions from the ‘dead’ to beat Burkina Faso at the opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Aboubakar played the ‘motivator’ as the team rose from a goal down in front of the home and the international crowd to rescue Cameroon with two goals to steal the show.

Cameroonians quickly remembered Aboubakar when he scored a winning goal for the Lions against Egypt to win the AFCON title in 2017.

The fans believe in him and they know what he could do with the team in this tournament.

Aboubakar has earned over 70 caps for Cameroon since his international debut in May 2010. He was part of their squads for the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, as well as the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015 and 2017.
