AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles boss Rohr opens up on players fitness

Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr says there is no injury worry in the team as preparations continue for AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic on Saturday.

Rohr’s side are due to depart Lagos this morning ahead of Saturday’s encounter in Benin Republic, Porto Novo.

After training on Wednesday, Franco-German tactician gave updates on the fitness of his players and also assessments of the pitch.

“The training session was good, we still have time to recover, so we wanted to what hard physically.

“We are satisfied with the pitch, we can play good football here.

“The training session was good and there is no injuries, the boys are in good shape.”

“We will train again before traveling to Port Novo from. Where will move to Cotonou, before coming back to Port Novo where we will play the game,” He said.

Rohr also said he has the antidote to end Benin Republic’s eight unbeaten home records.

“We are looking at them, we know they have lost at home in eight, now is the chance to be the first team to beat them.”

“It’s going to be easy, but we have the players to do it, and we need to stay humble, hungry and confident,” Rohr submitted.
