AFCON: Super Eagles ready for Cote d’Ivoire clash, says Pascal

Super Eagles team coordinator, Patrick Pascal, insists the team is fully focused on getting a win against hosts Cote d’Ivoire in their second game at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles started their campaign with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea.

The three-time African champions will be looking forward to claim their first win of the competition when they tackle the ivoriens at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium on Thursday.

“Everybody is looking forward to the game with confidence.

“The players are focused and are ready to make Nigerians proud,” Pascal told sports journalists at the team’s Pullman Hotel camp in Abidjan.

“We are not thinking about the first game again, that is behind us. We have prepared well and there is strong optimism that we will get a positive result.

“The task will be difficult but we have a team that can get the job done. The experience of playing in a big game like this will be vital for us.”

The match kicks off at 6:00pm Nigeria time.
