AFCON2023Q:Leone stars boss Keister dares Super Eagles

The Head Coach of Sierra Leone John Keister fancies his side chances against the Super Eagles of Nigeria, despite being labelled as the underdogs.

Keister’s players have been a difficult nut for the Super Eagles to crack, drawing two and losing one in their last three meetings.

Going into this contest, the Leone Stars are lying third on the log and four points adrift second placed Nigeria after four games each.

The Leones Stars must take the three points at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium in Liberiathis Sunday to stay alive in the Group.

“We know this is a match that we need to win, and therefore we have to be positive in our approach against a difficult Nigerian side – and we will definitely be,” he said in an interview with Sierra Leone journalist Alie Bittar.

The gaffer said, his side will dare to play their game.

“We are a young group, but there is just this feeling that we can come here and get a result against Nigeria.”

“It’s going to be a fight – we are ready to deal with whatever is thrown at us. Football is about the day who wants it the most,” he concluded.
