African Youth Player of the Year: Osimhen, Chukwueze lose to Morocco’s Hakimi

Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi has been crowned African Youth Player of the Year at the ongoing Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday night, January 8.

The Borussia Dortmund ace saw off stiff competition from Super Eagles pair of Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze.

The 21-year-old right-back prodigy, who is on loan from Real Madrid, has a market value worth of €45 million.

Interestingly, his performance at club level saw him rise through the rank and has become an established star with the German outfit, marking him out one of the finest youngsters in the world.

at the last count, Achraf made his Atlas Lions debut on in 2016, replacing Fouad Chafik in a 4–0 win against Canada.
