Akpeyi, Collins, Onuachu, Akpoguma, 7 Others Early Birds In Super Eagles’ Camp At Tangier, Morocco

Kaizer Chiefs shot-stopper, Daniel Akpeyi led the early birds of players who have arrived Super Eagles camp at the Tangier, Morocco ahead of FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022 Match Day 5 & 6 qualifying games against Liberia (November.13) & Cape Verde (November.16).

Liberia play their home games in Morocco after their stadiums couldn’t meet the Confederation of African Football’s requirements for the qualifiers.

The ten players arrival was confirmed via a statement on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) official Facebook page account.

“Update! Daniel Akpeyi, Paul Onuachu, Ola Aina, Kevin Akpoguma, Wilfred Ndidi, Jamilu Collins, Alex Iwobi, Chidera Ejuke, Frank Onyeka, Kelechi Iheanacho in camp. #SoarSuperEagles #Team9jaStrong.”

However, UK-based Frank Onyeka, Leon Balogun, William Troost-Ekong, Joe Aribo, Wilfred Ndidi, Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho alongside Torino’s Ola Aina later breeze into the camp.

All other players are also expected in camp latest Tuesday evening, for Nigeria’s last two World Cup qualifiers.

The Eagles play Liberia at the Grand Stade de Tanger, Morocco on Saturday, before hosting Cape Verde three days later at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos in the final group match of the qualifiers.

Nigeria lead Group C with nine points, two ahead of second-place Cape Verde.

Group winners will advance to the last qualification stage, where the 10 teams will play each other in a two-legged tie.
