Akwa United move NPFL home games to Eket Stadium

Akwa United’s home games in the Nigeria Premier Football League will now take place at the Eket Township Stadium, Sportinglife.ng reports.

The latest move is as of a result of the busy schedule at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, due to International matches at the venue.

At the last count, the Godswill Akpabio Stadium will serve as venue for Enyimba’s maiden participation in the African Football League.

The two-time CAF Champions League winners will tackle Wydad Casablanca of Morocco on October 20 at the venue.

Rivers United will also prosecute their CAF Confederation Cup home games at the stadium.

The Pride of Rivers play in Group C alongside Dream FC of Ghana, APC Lobito of Angola and Tunisia’s Club African.

on the other hand, Super Eagles will also commence their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Lesotho’s Crocodiles at the same ground.
