Alleged Police arrest: Paul Aigbogun considering legal action

Former Enyimba coach and current Flying Eagles handler Paul Aigbogun has hinted he will be heading to court to challenge a recent report that he was picked up by London police on allegation of domestic disturbance.

Aigbogun who is currently holidaying in London with his family, described the report as a calculated attempt to distract his team from focusing on the forth coming AFCON U20 billed for Niger Republic between February 2nd and 17.

“I have been in the UK spending time with my family, celebrating Christmas and taking time out with the family before we resume camping for AFCON U20. I urge the public to disregard the false report by the blackmailer; the world should ask him pictorial evidence and the police report. I just want to clear the air in the media as advised by my legal counsel to address the report through the press before taking legal action” he said

The former Warri Wolves coach reportedly told footballlive.ng that the claims are totally untrue, unfounded and is channeled towards destroying his good image and career which he has painstakingly built over the years through hard work, diligence and dedication.

The Flying Eagles will re-open camp in January ahead of the 2019 U-20 AFCON where it hopes to pick one of the tickets to the FIFA U-20 World cup in Poland.

Aigbogun who was initially combining Enyimba job with flying Eagles job recently quit the Peoples Elephant job citing personal reasons, even as some analysts say it is not unconnected with tight schedule posed by the two jobs.

Nigeria has been featuring in the FIFA U20 world cup since 1983 making it to the quarterfinals three times in 1999 which Nigeria incidentally hosted, 2007 in Canada and 2011 in Columbia.

Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2017 edition in Korea

The current technical team for the Under 20 side made up of Paul Aigbogun, with Abdullahi Makaba, Abubakar Bala, Hassan Abdallah and Suleiman Shuaibu as assistants will be hoping not only to pick a ticket to the next stage but will be hoping to play either in the semifinals or in the finals to mark an improvement.
